Madfish Bay

Madfish Bay, is on the south coast of Western Australia, just out of Denmark. The colours of the aqua ocean against the colours in the rocks drew me to paint this subject. I have used acrylic paint in a watercolour way. The primary colours are overlaid with opaque paint to give a sense of depth, without losing the vibrancy of the first layers; this is obvious in the close up of the rocks!

I grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and for as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to drawing. For me, the foundation of all my artworks is based on the premise of a sound drawing. I feel it is like the superstructure that holds the whole thing together and I know within my work that if it is not there the piece just doesn't stand up.
