Born Sydney 1962. Inspired by neighbours Lloyd Rees, Desidirus Orban and George Lawrence to pursue art. Lyn has learnt French to native speaker level and lived and worked in France from 2003 to 2009 to study Art History. Her interest in modern French art and French literature informs her practice. She taught at the Université de Lille 3 in all departments, including postgraduate students. She interpreted, translated and proofread professionally.
Lyn has worked as a contract draftsperson, including hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, landscape and town planning. This facilitates work as a public artist. Lyn has travelled widely and seen major international art collections.
Lyn loves landscape painting with her ‘Infinity samplers’, reflecting the changing weather and environment. She has undertaken public art commissions and demographic portrait surveys and created her Rainbow Basking series from 1995.
Lyn Moved to Perth in the early 90s and is profoundly attached to the river, the sea and the local environment. She has 2 children to whom she has conveyed her love of art and French language
She has just submitted her PhD thesis on Marcel Duchamp and his use of French language in his artworks.
