Lynn Miller is an artist whose works encompass painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography. She incorporates a wide spectrum of various media such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, egg tempera, graphite, and more in her studio work. Her subjects primarily include landscapes, water reflections, and mise-en-scène. Her work is an investigation of the subjective experience of the perceived world around her. She is particularly involved in the adventure of breaking conceptual habits as a part of her process.
Lynn's artistic journey began at the age of 10 at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York. It was here that her phenomenal passion and energy for life found its ground and path by focusing on the life of being an artist.
At the age of 21, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Art Education, Lynn was accepted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) programs at the Yale School of Art and Architecture.
She holds a PhD in research from Monash University, focusing on her thesis "The Enigma of the Visible." She studied under prominent American painters such as Philip Guston, Robert Rauschenberg, Alex Katz, Frank Stella, William Bailey, and Jack Tworkov. Lynn also completed the Josef Albers program on color, drawing, and design.
She has been the winner of the Len Fox Prize and a runner-up/"Highly Commended" in The John Lesly People's Choice Prize. She received a Gottlieb Foundation Grant. Her work is extensively collected in the USA, Australia, and Europe.
