Artist Bio

Celebrating life through artistic expression is a essential human quality. I am delighting in being able to spend time expressing my versions of our world in paint. Whether it be the quiet beauty of animals and plants we share on this small blue dot, or the mood that the placement of objects in a still life confers. Seeing the world through an artists eye can help make sense of our place in the universe, I love the challenge of expressing a person’s elemental forces though portraiture.

The basis of all my art is drawing, and have recently experimented with Silverpoint drawing of portraits, yet love the tonality and precision of graphite.

Most recently I have been experimenting with oil painting in portraiture and still life, but also love the luminous quality of watercolour for illustrating children’s books and botanical art.
In 2023, I was privileged to learn art concepts and hone my skills at a Florence Art Accademy (Accademia del Giglio) Italy.
