Window Box I

"I went for a walk and
got lost in this street where
I saw an old bungalow.
It looked haunted like
we see in horror movies.
Then I noticed this window
and the lush green jade plant.
Who would be watering daily,
for them to look so exotic?
I walked away thinking about it
and luckily reached back home.
When I woke up I understood
that it was just a dream I had."

I am Maria George, a self taught artist from Adelaide, South Australia. My pseudonym is Maria Mappilassery.

I am an aesthetic and emotive person who expresses thoughts and emotions through painting and poetry. You may notice that most of my creations are based on nature because of my admiration for its pure beauty.
I have understood that no matter where we go, nature is abundant and a great teacher if we learn to observe.

I have always admired oil paints for their long life and special charm but I am currently working with an acrylic medium and want to eventually experiment with different styles. I believe each medium has its own specialty that helps the artist produce unique results.
