Artwork Description

A 'Zest' for life! this painting was inspired by the healing qualities of Tea tree. Spending afternoons floating in the Tea tree lakes in the Northern Rivers I felt rejuvenated each day. The soft sounds of families laughing in the background tied in with gentle splashes of the lake soothing my mind and body, along with the natural healing qualities of the tea tree brought me back to life. Enjoying the simple gifts of nature.

I have used splashes of bright colours and earth tones to create this painting along with textures to bring this artwork to life. I aim to bring the viewer a sense of lust for life.

Artist Bio

Welcome!! My name is Madeline Guthrie I am a 28-year-old artist working from the serene South Coast of NSW, Australia. Capturing the perception of my reality through the eyes of a chronically ill person I include hints of Australian landscapes through exaggerated fluid human forms.

My Paintings range in size, using materials such as acrylic paints, oil paints, texture paste and mixed mediums on canvas.
I am open to commissioned works and love the idea of working with a client to create something beautiful together.

I aim to celebrate the beauty that surrounds me while challenging my audience to look deeper inward.
Each one of my Works incorporate hidden details that invite you to take a closer look. Discovering something new about my paintings at each glance.

My art represents underlying emotions that are stored in the body. I intend to create a link between nature and the human form to show the connected force that we cannot deny. I represent the world we live in and the way we relate to these elements through our unique behavioural patterns.

I hope to bring people on a visual journey and connect deeper with who you are at your core.
