Grounded In You

'Grounded Earth' is a study in contrast — a two-toned composition that explores duality, perception, and balance. The bottom half is anchored in deep Sienna: rich, matte, and grounding, like soil or shadow. It holds weight and stillness. In contrast, the top half shimmers with pearly, iridescent tones — soft warm neutrals that shif subtly with the light, evoking air, reflection, and dream.

Hello! I'm Madeline, an abstract artist based in Melbourne. I am captivated by the interplay of colour and texture, and find myself constantly experimenting with how to integrate them. I draw textural inspiration from the natural world, everyday life and the masters of colour, texture, and abstraction. I leave interpretation up to the eye of the viewer. I don't want to complicate it; I paint what I feel, with intent. If you enjoy it half as much as I did making it, then we'll call it a success!
