Artwork Description

"Powder Set" is a pair, two 80x80 cm pieces from the Colourwave series made to hang together. The impasto is built up in deliberate layers, every mark placed with intention, but the composition still breathes. Pastels and creamy neutrals move through the palette and melt into one another, soft and unforced.
There's a quiet pleasure in watching the two panels talk to each other, separate gestures gathering into something whole. Because the paint is so physical, the surface catches light differently as the day shifts, so the work never quite holds still. Enjoy :)

I draw textural inspiration from the natural world, everyday life and the masters of colour, texture, and abstraction. I leave interpretation up to the eye of the viewer.
