The Tide

Introducing "The Tide" — part of my Unbound series, where I push texture beyond the limits of traditional painting.
This 3D textured piece is bathed in metallic hues, with shadows and reflections shifting across the surface as the light moves. It's a study in depth and tactility, made for viewers who want to look closely.
The Unbound series is where I let texture lead — heavy impasto, sculptural marks, and a freedom from the flat canvas. The Tide is one of those pieces that rewards getting close.

Hello! I'm Madeline, an abstract artist based in Melbourne. I am captivated by the interplay of colour and texture, and find myself constantly experimenting with how to integrate them. I draw textural inspiration from the natural world, everyday life and the masters of colour, texture, and abstraction. I leave interpretation up to the eye of the viewer.
