Oil and acrylic painting artist, Madhumita Satpathi, is a Canberra based artist and has been honing her skills in oil and acrylic painting since several years now. She is conversant in using different mediums like acrylic, water, pastels but oil is the primary medium that she works with.
Primarily, she finds herself drawn to portray diverse cultures and lifestyles onto her canvases. Her vibrant symbolic paintings evoke feelings of oneness and unity in a diverse world. In each of her artwork, she narrates a story by setting the audience on a visual journey.
Apart from the cultural artwork she indulges in still life, flora-fauna and real life, as well as charcoal sketching, to name a few.
She has displayed her artwork in various art exhibits across Australia and won multiple prizes for her entries apart from successfully selling her artwork to private buyers and organisations. Exhibiting her artwork, not only helps her showcase her work but also enables her to observe other artists’ work and learn from them.
As Madhumita says, art helps her explore her deeper self and enables her to express her thoughts in the language of art. Being an artist have always proved to be therapeutic and rewarding.
