Artwork Description

Artworks come as a pair with custom made oak frames.

The series "Absence" is a reflection on the hours as a night shift worker. Inspired by the creative exploration of both material and form. Textured layers of cotton paper, ink, charcoal and pastels combine to create a monochromatic base, finished with accents of colour and machine embroidery. Free hand machine embroidery adds line work unattainable by other mediums.

Artist Bio

Madi is an recent Fine Art graduate and artist working out of Inglewood in Perth, Western Australia.

Madi’s abstract ink works use mixed mediums in a creative exploration of both material and form. Textured layers of cotton paper, ink, charcoal and pastels combine to create a monochromatic base, finished with accents of colour and machine embroidery. Free hand machine embroidery adds line work unattainable by other mediums. It gives the artwork a unique focus and direction to draw the eye to areas of tension within the piece.

Using a versatile medium like ink allows areas of both intensity and contrasting washes of diluted colour. Abstract and experimental works allow for endless creative discoveries and no two pieces will be the same.
