Artwork Description

The Interval is part of my ongoing Inviolate series, which follows a recurring pearl-like form through changing emotional, atmospheric, and psychological environments.

This painting was inspired by the experience of searching for calm while still moving through uncertainty. The small luminous sphere represents an enduring inner presence, while the surrounding landscape suggests a moment suspended between movement and arrival. Slender, tree-like forms rise through muted greys, soft blush, violet, blue, and maroon, creating an environment that feels both familiar and slightly dreamlike.

The artwork has been built through layered acrylic paint on canvas, combining translucent washes, textured brushwork, fluid marks, and denser areas of colour. These varied surfaces create depth and movement, while the smooth pearl-like form provides a quiet visual focus.

With its soft atmospheric palette and deeper jewel-toned accents, The Interval can bring a sense of reflection, calm, and visual depth to a living room, bedroom, study, or contemplative space. The work invites the viewer to pause and find their own meaning within the landscape.

Artist Bio

Maedeh Parvizian is a contemporary artist whose practice reflects a deliberate transformation in life path. After more than a decade building a successful career outside the art world, she turned to painting with a perspective shaped by close observation, pattern recognition, and a deep sensitivity to the emotional structures of human experience.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Maedeh explores states of transformation, resilience, inner tension, and the fragile balance between stillness and movement. Her paintings often suggest atmospheric landscapes or inner worlds, where layered colour, fluid forms, and symbolic elements create a sense of depth and quiet intensity.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, her work invites reflection. Forms appear to emerge, dissolve, or protect something essential within them, creating visual spaces where vulnerability and strength coexist. Through this open-ended visual language, Maedeh seeks to express emotional depth, ambiguity, and the subtle forces that shape inner life.
