Headland Cliffs

Hidden off the main highway on the way down the south coast is an amazing geographical landform worthy of a detour. The headlands draw me in every time. The remanent of an old blue metal quarry combined with the natural weathering reveal unique basalt columns. In this piece I have hand sculptured the columns and added multiple natural oxides and minerals to colour the rock formations. The array of colours and resin were used to reflect the rolling waves crashing into the rocks in an endless cycle.
This piece is a 3D representation of the headlands was created with multiple layers of resin to give the ocean and waves depth and motion.
The Australian made resin is UV resistant which adds a glossy finish to the artwork.

Utilising a spectrum of tints, she captures the ocean's ever-changing colours, reflecting its beauty across different times of the day and seasons of the year. The cliffs and seashores in her works are hand-sculpted, drawing inspiration from the iconic beaches found along Dharawal land.
