Artwork Description

This scene depicts my dog’s favourite swimming spot. The secluded beach on the beautiful white sands of Jervis Bay reminds me of how stunning the south coast feels and of how important it is to look after this treasure. The artwork takes inspiration from the colour of the waves and water through the use of carefully layered resin. The light reflects off the resin and shifts between the blue and turquoise colours, which vary depending on the time of day.

Materials:

Australian made UV-stable epoxy resin
Acrylic paint and inks
Beach sand

Artist Bio

Magali draws her inspiration from the breathtaking coast of Jervis Bay, lands of the Dharawal and Durga speaking people. With a rich background as an industrial chemist, she has masterfully perfected the art of resin, transforming her technical prowess into stunning 3D resin seascapes. Her passion for polymer chemistry, intertwined with her deep love for the sea, allows her to create captivating, lifelike oceanic scenes.
Magali finds endless inspiration in nature, particularly during her walks along the coastline. Each of her artworks is meticulously crafted using a combination of mixed media and diverse materials. These elements are carefully layered to mirror the varying depths and emotional strata of the beach and ocean. The intricate process of working with resin, a challenging and demanding medium, requires immense patience and a profound connection with her craft.
Utilising a spectrum of tints, she captures the ocean's ever-changing colours, reflecting its beauty across different times of the day and seasons of the year. The cliffs and seashores in her works are hand-sculpted, drawing inspiration from the iconic beaches found along Dharawal land.
Magali hopes to bring the beauty of the south coast into your home or work space to impart a sense of serenity.
