Artwork Description

Ocean’s Energy is a diptych composed of two panels, each measuring 120 × 90 cm. Together, they form a sweeping, immersive composition where movement, depth, and emotion flow seamlessly across both pieces. The eye is drawn toward the central convergence, where light, shadow, and motion gather as if stirred by an unseen current.
Soft blush tones and warm neutrals rise through the upper sections, creating a sense of lift and expansion, while the darker strokes introduce grounding depth and quiet intensity. The rich, turbulent teal at the base provides a cool, meditative weight that balances the energy of the upper half — like the moment a wave gathers itself before rising, powerful yet deeply calming.
In a room designed for both entertaining and reflection, Ocean’s Energy offers a rare duality: it is stunningly dramatic for guests, yet serenely grounding for the homeowner. Its movement draws attention, but its palette invites stillness. The diptych format enhances this effect, giving the work a sense of openness and breath, as though the ocean itself has been captured in two unfolding moments.

Artist Bio

Magdalena is a Polish‑born Australian artist and a passionate self‑taught creator who began painting a decade ago. Working primarily in acrylics, she discovered her artistic voice through exploration, intuition, and a deep love of colour.
Now living in the tropics, she draws inspiration from the vivid colours and bold forms of the natural world — the lush greens of the rainforest, the intensity of tropical blooms, and the shifting light that moves across the coastline. These elements infuse her paintings with vibrancy and movement, creating works that feel alive with energy and emotion.
Her art is shaped by a profound connection to place. Each piece reflects the rhythms of the environment around her, capturing both its intensity and its quiet poetry. Through layered textures, expressive brushwork, and a palette that celebrates the tropics, Magdalena invites viewers into a world where nature’s vitality and her own intuitive expression meet.
Her work has also travelled far beyond Australia. In 2023, her painting Hope was selected for a charity auction in London, where it was successfully sold to support humanitarian aid efforts. The piece, inspired by the colours of the Ukrainian flag and the universal longing for peace, became a symbol of compassion and solidarity.
Magdalena continues to explore the interplay of colour, movement, and feeling in her art, sharing pieces that celebrate the quiet strength found in moments of reflection.
