Artwork Description

This artwork captures the luminous meeting of sea and sky, where shifting waves and radiant light merge into a moment of pure atmosphere. Textured brushstrokes in deep blues and turquoise form the movement of the ocean, their layered surface creating a sense of depth and gentle motion. Above, the colours rise into warm golds, oranges, and soft yellows, evoking the glow of a sun suspended at the horizon.
A circular sun sits near the upper centre, its golden light spilling across the water in a shimmering reflection. The abundant use of gold brings a sense of warmth and richness, catching the light beautifully and giving the painting a dynamic, glowing presence throughout the day.
Framed in natural Tasmanian oak, the artwork gains an elegant, grounded finish. The warm timber complements the gold tones perfectly, enhancing the overall harmony between light, colour, and texture.

Artist Bio

Magdalena is a Polish‑born Australian artist and a passionate self‑taught creator who began painting a decade ago. Working primarily in acrylics, she discovered her artistic voice through exploration, intuition, and a deep love of colour.
Now living in the tropics, she draws inspiration from the vivid colours and bold forms of the natural world — the lush greens of the rainforest, the intensity of tropical blooms, and the shifting light that moves across the coastline. These elements infuse her paintings with vibrancy and movement, creating works that feel alive with energy and emotion.
Her art is shaped by a profound connection to place. Each piece reflects the rhythms of the environment around her, capturing both its intensity and its quiet poetry. Through layered textures, expressive brushwork, and a palette that celebrates the tropics, Magdalena invites viewers into a world where nature’s vitality and her own intuitive expression meet.
Her work has also travelled far beyond Australia. In 2023, her painting Hope was selected for a charity auction in London, where it was successfully sold to support humanitarian aid efforts. The piece, inspired by the colours of the Ukrainian flag and the universal longing for peace, became a symbol of compassion and solidarity.
Magdalena continues to explore the interplay of colour, movement, and feeling in her art, sharing pieces that celebrate the quiet strength found in moments of reflection.
