You may recognise the name of this portrait - no, Jacob Elordi did not commission me to paint him - but I was, at this point, enamoured with the Brisbane bred actor. Knowing that someone who grew up in a city so familiar to me could enter a scene so unfamiliar (Hollywood) felt beyond comprehension.

This style is one of a few inspired by Australian modernist painters such as Thea Proctor and Grace Cossington Smith.

In one career change, Maggie turned her extreme neuroticism into ‘artistic sensibilities’. Formerly a building designer, she’s now known for figurative work that combines Zillennial absurdism with traditional portraiture. After painting privately for two decades, Maggie started selling her art tentatively. Within the first year she emptied her studio, shipped commissions nationally, and sold originals at Stevens Street Gallery within hours of release. She resolved that making art might be something she should continue doing. And so, she has.
