Artwork Description

Location: Africa

Subject: Black Rhino, Ox-Pecker Birds & Egret

This piece explores the harmonious relationship between grazers and birds. Highlighting the Black rhino, one of Africa's iconic and solitary creatures; along with charismatic and communal Ox-Peckers and Egret, we take part in their shared journey.

Playing host to a crowd of highly energetic chorus of feathered hitchhikers, the quietly powerful and humble of beings, our rhino becomes their guide as they move through the grasslands. With the striking flare of an oncoming African sunset we experience a moment that encapsulates a timeless link between symbiotic species.

Artist Bio

As an Artist my work is not intended to be a portrait of an animal; instead my mission is to convey a glimpse, a momentary pause from the life of that being. Together with an original piece of emotionally charged poetry, a voice is given to this moment, to this soul.

My palette and poetic narratives draw inspiration from eastern wisdom of the Auras, which reflect our emotional energy and signify our vibrancy of life. This influence is utilised to highlight the unifying force or soul that resides equal in all beings, transcending the physical form.

Using this combination of original poetry and richly visual artworks, I hope to explore the deeper connections that run spiritually, emotionally and experientially between all beings; with a goal to help motivate a new perspective of care, awareness and respect for our planet’s wildlife.

As a self-taught Artist and conservation advocate, I have a genuine desire to rekindle the connection between our environment, wildlife and us. Tackling challenges of conservation and eco-harmony, my art aims to portray the lives around us as a part of us; in the same way that we are all part of what Ancient Greek teachings term Gaia: the complex living being that is Mother Earth.
