Dusk and plenitude describes Gardners Creek, an area near Marco's home, at dusk. This is a time when darkness begins to overtake the last light of the day and forms and space become fluid and uncertain. The painting combines looser marks and textures with tighter descriptions of forms such as trees. The work describes and experience of the space while also using colour to express an emotional affinity with the landscape. Marco's young son, wearing a white bicycle helmet, is visible in the middle distance on the right.
