Artwork Description

The painting is the second of a series of paintings describing a story written by a friend. This part of the story is when the fish in a river mock the cave which can seen on the riverbank. The fish are native Australian Trout Cod.

Artist Bio

Having grown up in country Victoria, Marco Corsini’s paintings display an affinity with the Australian landscape. Often painted in-situ, the works explore the unique spacial and visual experience of the landscape. They combine a keen perception of space, light and texture with an extensive understanding of painting to create unique works. His art can frequently be seen to shift between areas of loose abstraction into areas of detailed observation that echo the sense of passing through that which is observed in part but never full perceived. When the figure appears in his work it also maintains a similar tension as it shifts between distance and detailed intimacy. Marco is the founder and Director of Melbourne Art Class. Marco is also the Chief judge for the 2021 Camberwell Art Show.
