Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Mulgumpin is the Aboriginal word for Moreton Island, Quandamooka is the country I live on and where I absorb my inspiration and creativity for my artwork. I live on an island with water all around me, I travel to the mainland by water taxi. The Quandamooka Bay is a marine park and full of life both under the water and on lands.
This spectacular artwork is my interpretation of my home, this artwork will make a wonderful conversation piece in any home.

Colours and shades of aqua and ochres, family circles that connect to nature. Spaces in between to reflect the Cracks in my Culure.I have chosen bright apple green and perfect light magenta pink to celebrate a collaboration of story, family and women. There are Aboriginal symbols depicting our travels throughout our life as First Nation Women on Country. My story of country, depicting the beautiful island I live on. Using colours of the water and sands to tell the women's story of their lore. Your eyes are swept across the canvas of subtle pastel hues giving the viewer a taste of island life. This artwork is vibrant and has depth, with a bright colourful background and titanium white paint depicting the story. It is playful as your eyes travel around the canvas ingesting every corner.
