After the rain

My inspiration for this work comes from the farmers joy that’s felt after the drought breaks. That overwhelming feeling of relief when magically the countryside turns to what feels like the greenest of green and the creeks begin to run. The world is a much brighter place.

Here I used free brush strokes over an under wash which shines through to create that feeling of magic. The rich magenta gives a shine to new flowers enriching the countryside.
