Artwork Description

I am fascinated by the view from above, and the different perspective afforded the viewer. An intimate look at the reef water world, with its depth and fluid patterns in this lovely cove, normally hidden and its beauty unseen. There is a peacefulness to the vista, a visual stepping aside from the wild world that surrounds and impacts us. Offering the often anxious ' STOP THE WORLD! I WANT TO GET OFF' escape. The anchored boat affords safety and the perfect place to imagine a peaceful haven to relax and breathe easy. A chance to explore and experience a very different world view indeed.

Artist Bio

Creativity is a big part of me and what I can do. I am very grateful for the God given ability which allows me to express myself in many and varied ways. I am so visual, so being able to draw an idea or concept has been very valuable for me. My artistic journey has had many ' ah ha' ideas explored with various degrees of success, my learning curve, at times has felt like a vertical climb with the hope of a satisfying view from the top.
My studio has sewing equipment and threads from past endeavours, artist easels, all sorts of brushes, lino print carvers, evidence of water colours both paint and pencils, pastels and papers, inks, and my current favourite at the moment, acrylic.
My 'go to' tends to be some fine detail in whatever I am doing.
I create to please myself mostly, and so I lean towards painting peaceful or peace inducing works, to counter this increasingly stressful conflict ridden world for others too. I like bird’s eye or drone eye views, excited to see from a different or quirky point of view as well. 😊
A lot of my paintings are nature inspired and include water, I am drawn to it.
Inspiration can come from anywhere and demands to be explored and played with. The ensuing experience can be littered with joy, optimism and frustration, sometimes in equal measure, depending on the subject matter.
I love being a Creative. The possibilities are endless.
