Its a Wild Ride

Influenced by expressive modernist figuration and personal memory, the work expresses those moments when a posture or a pause stands for more than narrative detail. I build surfaces through successive layers of washes and opaque passages, alternating measured composition with spontaneous brushwork and scraping to reveal earlier gestures. Edges are modulated to set rhythm, and negative space is used deliberately to amplify form. By obscuring features I shift emphasis from identity to posture, chromatic relationships, and emotional cadence, producing a body of work that reveals private reverie while remaining open to interpretation.
