The Boys in the Back is a playful reflection on ego, luxury, and quiet absurdity. In keeping with the simplified, geometric style of my this series, this piece depicts a stretched-out car with two figures in the back, calmly smoking cigars, and a lone driver up front. The composition exaggerates scale and space to evoke the idea that grandeur can often feel empty or humorous when stripped of its noise. Like much of my work, this piece is rooted in minimal forms and bold colours, using simplicity to suggest character, mood, and quiet narrative.
