Margie has ways been interested in art as a way to express herself. Her first foray into art was the completion of a fashion design course upon leaving school. Margie used that qualification to teach in the TAFE system and operated a private dressmaking business creating bridesmaid and wedding dresses. Fastforward a number of years with marriage and children, her creative outlet was found in creating vibrant watercolors depicting colorful floral arrangements. Fast forward again a few more years and the children have flown the coup. Margie changed mediums and her works are now composed on canvas using a combination of acrylic, pastels and ink mediums.
Margie has lived all her life on a farm where she maintains a close connection to the land and the animals. This can be found in her subject matter, the cattle and sheep that roam beyond the garden fence.
She still maintains an active role on the farm, but her workload has recently reduced since her children have come back to take on major roles in the farming operation.
Margie hopes to use the newfound spare time to concentrate on her art where she would like to continue to learn and develop a style that is unique to her.
