I trained as a ceramic artist but am now enjoying the immediacy of painting. My work explores gesture, emotion and memory, capturing landscapes that for me, evoke memories and feelings of a certain time and place.
The spontaneous nature of my brushwork captures the passing moment spent in a landscape, the feeling and mood that a familiar space provokes. My work is mostly inspired by local landscapes, coastal and bush and the colour palette represents these. My colour palette is intentionally a soft and muted one, from the landscape, which suggests the softening of recollections and memories over time ,
