Move

Move is from the series “still” of seascapes and cloudscapes in oil on canvas. These works explore abstraction of these scapes whilst kindling the notion and sensation of awe.
I am mesmerised by the sky, the cloud formations and the movement of the sun. For me it’s a constant distraction, ever changing and without rest, it captures my focus and divides my thoughts.

I trained as a ceramic artist but am now enjoying the immediacy of painting. My work explores gesture, emotion and memory, capturing landscapes that for me, evoke memories and feelings of a certain time and place.
The spontaneous nature of my brushwork captures the passing moment spent in a landscape, the feeling and mood that a familiar space provokes. My work is mostly inspired by local landscapes, coastal and bush and the colour palette represents these. My colour palette is intentionally a soft and muted one, from the landscape, which suggests the softening of recollections and memories over time ,
