Artwork Description

Yellow is part of a three-piece series exploring mood and emotion through color. This portrait depicts a dachshund set against a saturated yellow background, emphasizing warmth, attentiveness, and quiet presence. The direct gaze and soft rendering of the dog’s features create an intimate connection with the viewer, while the bold monochrome backdrop removes distractions and heightens emotional focus.

Together with its red and blue counterparts, this work examines how color alone can shift perception—yellow suggesting warmth, curiosity, and gentle optimism—while the subject remains constant. The series invites viewers to consider how emotion, personality, and atmosphere are shaped not only by form, but by color.
