Marie was born in Sydney, NSW in 1946. She discovered her love for representational and impressionist art in the '80s while taking a sabbatical in Europe.In the new century, she retired from her city life in IT to find the best of the tree change / sea change lifestyle. Locating the secret paradise of Agnes Water 1770 at the foot of the Great Barrier Reef, she and her husband, two dogs and one boat closed the door on the old life and advanced into the new. That is where her truly wonderful decade of painting began. Many international and national sales, an overseas exhibition, several art competition wins, media interviews and print articles then finishing with her solo exhibition at the Gladstone art gallery and museum.
For the next five years, Marie had to close her studio due to ill health of her darling husband. Now she has returned to her easel, set up in a new location in the Sunshine Coast. The luscious feel of rich oil paint finding its way across stretched canvas by brush or knife is addictive. Few days pass now without succumbing to that passion.
