Original Artwork's Description

We have owned two border collies , Bella and Moses. I’ve always loved the way they can focus on any ‘job’…they are a delight to watch. I’ve used bright ,happy colours to reflect the joyousness that dogs bring into the world! My wild brushstrokes are used to suggest energy and activity.

Artist Bio

Growing up in Orange in the Central West of New South Wales, Marie Therese spent most of her childhood painting and drawing. After school, Marie Therese took the first train from Orange to Sydney, bound for Art School! Marie Therese spent four exciting and eye-opening years making art - majoring in painting and drawing and eventually graduating from the NSW University with a Dip Art Ed. Harnessing her eye for form, colour and texture, Marie Therese started her own fashion design, manufacturing and retail business, which she ran successfully for forty years. After four decades of fashion, Marie Therese fell in love with the beautiful NSW Central Coast. She now spends all her time painting. Marie Therese is inspired by the colours of the local bush and bird life. She believes there’s no greater beauty than nature; the wild flashes of colourful feathers, the pretty pastels of our native blooms and the serene blue and green tones of our ocean. Her art captures a single moment of beauty, reminding us of what’s right there if we care to slow down, and just take a look.
Marie Therese was thrilled to be named a 2026 BLUETHUMB RISING STAR! Her work has been widely collected and can be found in local and overseas collections.
There are no competition wins or placings listed as Marie Therese doesn’t enter them, she prefers to spend her studio time painting freely without worrying about guidelines and rules!
Marie Therese’s hubby, a retired builder has taken up framing, so most of her works now come with a floating frame made from recycled timber.
