MARIJKE GREENWAY
Marijke is a self taught, prolific artist living at Pearl Beach on the Central Coast, NSW. She travels widely throughout Australia, painting 'en plein air' as she goes and then reworks her memories into larger more expressive paintings back home in the studio.
Fluent in oils, acrylics, watercolours, encaustic and mixed media, she has taught each of these media at workshops for the Combined Art Societies at Meroo and Summer Art Experience in Canberra as well as for most art societies on the Central Coast.
Marijke has been published with major contributions to art magazines, both editorial and tutorial. She is a member of The Central Coast, The Royal and the Marine Art Societies.
Together with friend Pim Sarti, she has organised the SHOWOFFS exhibition at Pearl Beach every second year since 2004 showcasing their work.
She was one of the artists-in-residence on The Heritage Fleet during 2012 and for this was awarded the President's Medal at the opening of the exhibition SALT IN THE A.I.R.
She has exhibited in the Foyer of Gosford Regional Gallery with her solo exhibitions TRAIN FRAME - MULLET CREEK and GREECE UNBUTTONED, the latter was shown in Greece as well.
