Ready to hang

This small artwork on Strathmore heavy weight mixed media paper was made in Italy, Umbria, during our six months stay there this year. The incredible beautiful country side with its flowers, olive trees, grape vines had to be an inspiration. So every day during the siesta time I would do some work on the kitchen table, I just had to put straight down my impressions, feelings and love for this country side. For collage I used dung paper which I rubbed on the ancient walls of the small village we stayed, my used teabags. Then of course the gorgeous colors, the different greens, poppies red, pinks and blues all together had to become part of it as well. A limited different palette from my earlier work for these works because we were traveling and the discovering of some beautiful master paints in the local art shops.
