Contemporary oversized bird portrait. Rich colours and hyper-detailing of feathers. I love birds and the lush details of their textures and feathers. As an large portrait that gives the animal subject an almost human quality at the same time as a beautiful decorated subject.
Working in oversize of my subject matter makes the surface of feathers almost like a landscape .
Australian Parrots interest me as they are not "pretty " in the typical sense. By the size I depict them hopefully gives them more a majestic air.
