Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
I have always loved the view of the Bathurst Lighthouse on Rottnest, an island off the coast from Perth, Western Australia. The curve of the rocky headland and the beach have always interested me as it sweeps around to a rocky sand dune. I decided to paint this iconic lighthouse and beach using a contemporary approach. The tones of the colours give the painting its definition. I prepared the canvas with gesso and then painted layers of acrylic paint thickened with thick, slow medium which gives a textured finish to the canvas. This painting would create a bright centre of interest in any room and would be ready to hang when you receive it.
