As an outdoor enthusiast, I am not only inspired by what I see but by what I feel when immersed in the wilder side of nature.This series is based on my trips to the National Parks in Victoria. In the foreground is an abstracted depiction of what the bush is made of — a tangle of vegetation, deadwood, rock formations, trails, seasonal light, and cast shadow. I want a sense of distance to convey the vastness of this country, while my colour choices capture the mood of the day. I work in the studio from a portfolio of my photographs and impressions sketched on location.”
