Cairn

Cairn was influenced by a group of rocks near the You Yang. It reminded me of ancient graves where rock were piled on the grave site to honour and protect the dead. I thought about the death of women in Australia due to domestic violence and this is my tribute to their memory. A womans shape lying down created from enduring rocks.
Although a grim subject the painting is also a beautiful soft rendition of nature which will compliment in warm tones any room.
