Artwork Description

This is a painting taken from Saint Helena Island in Moreton Bay, Brisbane. It is from the ruins of the penal settlement days and it was a beautiful boat ride day trip over there from Hamilton.

I tried to capture all the different shades of grass as the sunlight filtered through.

Varnished and ready to hang with chord attached to the back.

Artist Bio

Thank you for visiting my page.

Although art was one of my best subjects at school, I didn't commence oil painting until 2021.

My Mum, who was an accomplished artist in her time, handed me some old oil paints one day. I was immediately hooked on the buttery, forgiving nature of oils.

I love to paint scenes of my surrounding environment, trying to find light and shadows in my subjects. I consider myself an impressionist artist and I love to use both brushes and palette knives in my work.

I enter many art competitions around Brisbane and I am also a member of the Royal Qld Art Society.

Although I work full time as a Workplace Safety and Injury Management Co-ordinator across 3 Primary schools, I am passionate about dedicating my spare time to painting .😊
