Mark Deady is a contemporary artist and illustrator based on Gadigal country, in Sydney’s Inner West, Australia). His work focuses on the nexus between human psychology and the physical world, combining expressionism, symbolism, and language. Each piece is an attempt to represent the entanglement of human consciousness, the pooling, burying, and surfacing of emotion and memory.
Mark works with a range of mediums primarily oil and acrylic, incorporating different media and found materials in various ways. He attempts to create each work as sustainably as possible repurposing discarded house paints and other refuse forms of medium. Mark uses a layered, frenetic technique in application favouring an assault of knives and scrappers to brushes.
