Artwork Description

This painting was done at my Father's property in Northern NSW with all the family visiting. My nieces were interested in how I paint outdoors and were interested in how I mixed colours to match the landscape. Although featuring different tones of green it has a really warm feeling to it.

Artist Bio

Professional Artist/Instructor Mark Feiler grew up in Mackay, North Queensland. He works out of his home Studio in Lower Bottle Creek Northern NSW.

Mark studied Fine Art at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney perfecting his drawing and oil painting skills. He also attended Brisbane Arts Académie Morningside.

Feiler began teaching Art at Atelier Art Classes in Salisbury Brisbane in 2014. When Covid interrupted Studio classes in 2020 he created Brisbane Art Classes; Online Art School. He is passionate about teaching students traditional drawing and painting.

Feiler has exhibited his work Nationally and Internationally as well as being a prize winner and finalist in numerous competitions. He was the recipient of the jealous curator’s choice award for The Kennedy Prize, a prestigious Australian art award for artworks that embody, comment on or celebrate beauty. Mark is a passionate student of the Classical Western Artistic tradition. His work is inspired by beauty and truth and centres on the human figure and its relationship with nature.
