The Mark Lobert story starts with a knockabout lad from a working class Adelaide suburb, earning some extra pocket money, picking up secondhand furniture and turning those unloved pieces into something new by adding vibrant, bold colours and designs. From there, he began breathing new life into terracotta pots and offering them up at local markets. People adored the brightly coloured pots and snapped them up. His stall became very popular and seeing the joy on people’s faces was invigorating and motivating.
Mark Lobert Art hangs on walls around the world. In corporate spaces and family homes, in hospitals, hotels, banks and boardrooms. In lounge rooms of maisonettes and foyers of mansions. His work is often part of fundraising campaigns, raffles and charity auctions. “Paying it forward” is important to Mark.
Mark welcomes you to contact him if you’d like to discuss a special piece or a commission. He’s happy to catch up with you over the phone, email, webcam, or in person. You can also arrange a time to meet at the gallery at Liddon Place, Port Adelaide. Take a stroll through Mark Lobert’s world. It’s a wonderful, colourful, inspiring and exciting place to be.
