About

Born in Australia in 1964, Mark Minty has been painting and drawing professionally for over twenty-five years. He is an experienced Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Visual and Performance Arts teacher.

Since 2015 Minty has devoted himself to creating a full time visual arts practice based at his Northcote studio. He makes art for his own enjoyment everyday and currently has a number of painting commissions, illustration assignments and performance based projects in progress.

Mark Minty is represented in a number of significant private collections both in Australia and overseas.

The works exhibited on #bluethumb are from a series of small, alphabet inspired paintings the artist has been making for a number of years. Each letter-themed picture is painted on mounted birch plywood using mostly acrylic based media.

Employing both painting and graphic art techniques to create interesting visual statements, these artworks are cleverly entitled to pay homage to inspirational Australian artists and are wonderfully creative and very collectable.
