A scene captured mid-morning in the walk back to Annandale from the Glebe Foreshore in Sydney, this fig stands sentinel at the site of the old aqueduct. My interpretation captures the effect of the sunlight as it clears the horizon and begins to warm the branches of this majestic tree. My influences are the impressionists but I aim to bring a contemporary, expressionist palette to convey the warmth of the scene.
