I call my art style ‘impasto improv’. I only use a palette knife to create my artworks, applying bold, thick colours directly from the tube to capture the essence of the character of the subject. I enjoy painting portraits and occasionally delve into pop art. With over 25 years of experience as a practicing artist, I have worked in commercial art, graphic design, and painting. For the past 14 years, I have specialised as a caricaturist and portrait artist, working both at live events and in the studio. Additionally, I am a qualified teacher and have taught small art classes for several years. I take delight in capturing someone's personality and expression with a few deft marks and am unafraid to be unconventional in my figurative application.
