Artwork Description

For over fifteen years, Mark has explored the triangle as a primary structural and conceptual form. Initially inspired by the hard-edged aesthetics of early 3D rendering software, these investigations first materialised as thick, solid glass sculptures.

Over time, the triangular form migrated into painting, extending the two-dimensional image beyond the confines of the canvas or frame and into room itself. This progression ultimately evolved into a distinct triangulated abstraction of the pictorial surface itself. Reducing dimensional complexity by one degree from Cubism, the work proposes a sharpened, distilled visual language—Precise. Spatially aware... with Trianglism having one fewer dimension than Cubism, the result is, by Mark’s reckoning, 25% improved

Artist Bio

Sculptor and painter since 2005, I have exhibited in group and solo shows in Sydney and Melbourne, from Sculpture by the Sea, to Hazelhurst Gallery.

My love is glass, it holds a firm position in my creative heart. My work embraces imperfection and lives in an introverted head space.
