This work is an experiment in abstraction. I have taken an image of a cats head, abstracted and filtered it down to it's base colours, then used these forms to influence the 3D sculpted glass frame.

Influenced by the Surrealist movement of the 20th Century, I wanted to experiment with the style. This is the result. A strange pair of suited bird like creatures, waiting for...?A portrait style work where the subject has been given elements of technology incorporated into her structure - giving a future feel to the work. However it also alludes to the trap of a 9:00-5:00 office job, I then used the forms to influence the 3D sculpted glass frame, further pushing the feel of capture, or constraints.This work is an experiment in abstraction. I have taken an image of a lorikeet and filtered it down to it's base colours, then used these forms to influence the 3D sculpted glass frame.
