I grew up in Glasgow, Scotland and choosing a traditional training in illustration, feeling that a firm understanding of technical skills such as perspective theory and light interaction would form the basis for future artistic projects, grounded in reality.
"I then successfully worked in both the graphic design and architectural visualisation for many years, before deciding to produce art full time
in both contemporary realistic and abstract painting styles. I also work from and produce my own fine art photographic studies.
My style of painting ranges from the realistic, evoking strong colour and mood through to stylised studies of portraits,
places and objects experienced on my travels. I strive to produce art that conveys a story or inspires emotive thought, both via paint or photographic montages".
Currently relocated to Melbourne, where I'm looking into future projects which may incorporate hyperrealism with design and street art styles.
I occassionally accept commission work, typically in the form of highly detailed portrait artworks. This follows on from a series of successful private art commissions, including high profile overseas customers such as singer Anthony Kiedis, and televison indiustry private collectors in the US, Hawaii and Canada.
Artists that have inspired me include: Damian Loeb, Davis Cone, Denis Peterson, Sebastian Kruger, Randy Ford.
