Marnie Giroud studied visual art and media at Edith Cowan University.
She spent more than nine years working as an art specialist in regional and city schools and she currently teaches art workshops through her business Eco gecko - Environment & design.
Her work has been exhibited in Perth and regional Western Australia and has won several awards.
Influencers of her work include cartoonists Gary Larson and Jim Davis. and her mother and established artists Jeanette Giroud.
Her ‘Shifty Sheep Series’ and “Secret Life of Sheep” series has developed through cartooning and wire sculptures over the last six years.
As a cartoonist for a regional wheatbelt newspaper, Marnie's single cell cartoons series'Tall Tales form the Northern Valleys' is a light hearted look at living in the country though the eyes of farm animals and wildlife.
Her passion for wildlife conservation is evident through works depicting native and exotic fauna.
Marnie's 'Wired Wildlife' wire sculpture series, 'Nutty Natur' and 'Freaky Farm' cartoon characters prove popular with a wide audience.
A percentage of funds made from the sales of artworks are donated to wildlife and animal rescue charities.
