This piece is titled Changes reflecting a shift from my previous landscape paintings. It is a more abstract omposition, loosely painted with fluid acrylics which allow more experimentation and change in direction as the painting evolves. The colours are reminiscent of a seascape but it is up to the viewer to interpret any feelings or meanings it invokes. The dash of gold lifts the mood and serenity of this piece.
My paintings try to capture the the vivid colours in beautiful Australian landscapes that I have visited during my travels. My recent work is inspired by aerial photographs of Australian desert landscapes, the Flinders Ranges and the seascapes of the Fleurieu Peninsular. I find painting inredibly meditative, indeed therapeutic. Everyone should try it!
