Holy Toledo

I painted this after a recent art trip to Spain. The iconic medieval bridge at Toledo stretching over the Tajo river was such a postcard scene that I couldn't resist painting when I got home. The reflections in the water mirroring the landscape give it a surreal quality. The pastel palette contrasts with the vivid colours of the Australian landscapes that I am typically drawn to.

My paintings try to capture the the vivid colours in beautiful Australian landscapes that I have visited during my travels. My recent work is inspired by aerial photographs of Australian desert landscapes, the Flinders Ranges and the seascapes of the Fleurieu Peninsular. I find painting inredibly meditative, indeed therapeutic. Everyone should try it!
